Best defensive performance against Joe Montana I have ever seen.

  3. penoyer79 on March 9, 2020 at 11:12 pm

So un-49ers like. even down 20-3 you just kept waiting Joe to be Joe. Just one of those days…

  4. DLT Guitar on March 9, 2020 at 11:12 pm

In todays weak NFL the trainers would have taken Carter into concussion tests after that first Lott hit an he would be done for the game.. smh

A great game to watch! Two minute Tommy was replaced by Won minute Wade. Suppose to be big 49er year! We seem to play the role of spoiler in our playoff runs……Cowboys,Giants and 49ers. On the other hand we on everybody’s highlight films for big victory’s! You see perhaps we will play the Bills,…….and,……….somebody’s bound to win there first super bowl! Burns was famous for his swearing! Very quotable! I’m 54. Chris Doleman was a monster! For you kids,….he was the featured defensive player on the Vikings in Tecmo Bowl.(an ancient gaming device called Sega Genesis, used by us cavemen)Unstoppable! Not the first NFL video game,….but the first that was really addicting!

    GO 49ers

  10. Mogster101 on March 9, 2020 at 11:19 pm

This is why you shouldn’t gas out the players during practices prior to a playoff game.

  11. Nick Big Mann on March 9, 2020 at 11:19 pm

As a long-time 49er fan I remember this depressing game well. After the game Bill Walsh said that the 49ers were overconfident and he had overworked them during the week and they really were tired coming into the game even though they had a bye. Probably was the one playoff game under Walsh where the 49ers just flat-out sucked, were flat and played horribly.

  19. Four Sword on March 9, 2020 at 11:29 pm

Lol Minnesota paid big time the next two years for this.
They were out scored by the niners in the 1988 and 89 Divisional Playoffs by the combined score of 75 to 22.

  20. Doctor Garbonzo on March 9, 2020 at 11:32 pm

Truly One of the big upsets in NFL history! The Vike’s were for real & played to the end against Wash

  25. Joshua on March 9, 2020 at 11:35 pm

  33. Paul Sethre on March 9, 2020 at 11:44 pm

Can you imagine what Anthony Carter would have done had he ever played with a good quarterback?

  34. Paul Hanson on March 9, 2020 at 11:47 pm

This is the most clear , tightest high definition video I’ve ever seen of 80s sports videos. As a Niner fan -I remember that day all too well. The whole Bay Area weals really depressed for a few months.

  35. Dan Livni on March 9, 2020 at 11:51 pm

A lot of these hits Ronnie Lottt was doing would not be allowed today

  36. Richard Morris on March 9, 2020 at 11:52 pm

This was an underrated rivalry dating back to John Brodie-gary Cuozo days.looking forward to the 21st. Century version. 49ers are as talented as any just like in 87 but the Vikings could slay that dragon.wouldn’t it be a great story if Minnesota could finally win on the road & put it together & win the Lombardi! & I’m a Patriots fan.

  37. rhuertas70 on March 9, 2020 at 11:53 pm

Could history repeat itself next weekend?.

  38. Richard Morris on March 9, 2020 at 11:53 pm

Jerry rices 2 yr in the league & already double teamed!

  39. Sum Ego on March 9, 2020 at 11:54 pm

If only we could get a repeat of ‘87 this Saturday.

A.Carter was awesome. The o-line was awesome. And Wade was awesome. And we were a hard hitting D and special teams. How about that D-line?!

    We need awesome in 2020.

  40. zepps88 on March 9, 2020 at 11:57 pm

    32 year rematch next week

  45. Richard Morris on March 9, 2020 at 11:59 pm

Let’s hope the 2020 team is watching this.Montana rushed it a bit trying to score before half.missed field goal very demoralizing.my man rice isn’t having his best game either.

  46. Randy Martinez on March 9, 2020 at 11:59 pm

    LETS GO COWBOYS

  47. Cesar Medina on March 10, 2020 at 12:02 am

Great performance from Vikings all the way around. Cant believe Joe got benched.

  48. hank olsen on March 10, 2020 at 12:02 am

Why would the 49ers go for the PAT when they were down by 16 late in the 4th Quarter? They should have gone for 2 to make it an 8 point, one—score game! Bad call by Bill Walsh.

  49. Cesar Medina on March 10, 2020 at 12:02 am

Late 80s Vikings were very underated.

  50. Tony Gardner on March 10, 2020 at 12:04 am

    This is repeating in 2020
