Chicago Bears uniform and uniform color history
If you love the Chicago Bears and their colorful history, then you’re going to love this terrific two-minute video by NFL Films which chronicles the uniform color history of the Bears franchise from its founding in Decatur Illinois as the Decatur Staleys in 1920 to the modern era in magnificent New Soldier Field. Narrated by Scott Graham, one of the great voices of NFL Films, this video features three uniform history experts: Joe Horrigan who is VP Communications and Exhibits at the Pro Football Hall of Fame where he has worked for more than 35 years; Michael MacCambridge, author of “America’s Game: The Epic Story of How Pro Football Captured A Nation” and many other books as well as editor of the massive “ESPN College Football Encyclopedia”; and Scott Sillcox, sports uniform historian.

I don’t understand something, there’s no blue in the current bears logo, so where did the blue come from?

Bears are one of the NFLs Great Franchise’s in History
one last thought on the Bears uniform colors The Blue is like a different blue then say the Broncos blue looks more purple and the cowboys blue looks more navy and the chargers blue looks more faded blue the Bears have like a blue only they can differentiate from all other NFL teams to me when I first saw them I thought they where blackish brownish color but now I realize they are actually like a midnight blue
I don’t understand the bears jerseys are blue when their logo is orange
I’m so happy and proud to be bears fan for life. They have the best uniforms in NFL history.
This color or blue has always been a bit confusing to me…In the 1950’s and 60’s, if you watch any film of the Bears, the uniform colors, even close up, appear to be BLACK….The shade of blue must be so dark that it is hard to distinguish, but for years I thought it was a black jersey….With some orange, of course…If they actually WERE black, man, they would look menacing…I always liked their uniforms…
Bears are one of the oldest NFL teams
The uniforms were so close to black but I knew it wasn’t black, if anything I thought it was a dark purple lol.
yeah the Bears have Always been a popular NFL franchise the Chicago Bulls took over Chicago in the Michael Jordan era but the Bears always where still known
