The Bears and Packers is the oldest rivalry in football. It didn’t take long for them to exchange blows. Which team can keep their composure, without going too far?
It’s unbelievable that Payton played behind a crummy offensive line for a crummy team for most of his career and still set all those records and finished his career basically injury free.
Just an early example of the Refs giving a game to the Bears, as usual. Peyton holds onto Lee’s jersey and Lee gets the penalty. Sad officiating even back then…
It had slipped my mind just how many penalties there were in this game. At the time, I remember wondering if it was possible for an official to wear out a flag in a single game! And I don’t think any of the penalties were dubious.
This is football and these teams HATED each other! This is excellent. History remembers the Bears dominating this season but the Packers almost won this game.
I was born in 1975 didn’t really start watching football until 1989 at age 14 when lions drafted Barry Sanders and I’ve been a huge football fan ever since then. With that said, it’s a real treat watching Payton run he has his own style that reminds me of nobody else.
Goddamn!!! Cheap shots left and right!!! The good ole’ days. You don’t throw Walter Payton across the bench….duh. Can you even imagine that late hit on Matt Suhey in todays game? That would be a multigame suspension.
Last week I joined ScreenVariety Tv. It’s the cheapest online option on web this year. Just $few/yearly and you can watch any Tv channel. Including NFL this year with HQ and many extra options. Just check it. ScreenVariety Tv
I’ve never seen this game even thou Packers made several mistakes their’er QB couldn’t throw down field if his life depended on it. He over thrown open receiver’s 10 times during this game. Mistakes meaning play ball not penalty gathering that’s the coaches fault.
I was at this game. One of the best games I ever attended. Intensity was at an almost all-time high. Loved the hit on Suhey by Kenny Stills. I could hear it all the way up in the 52nd row in the north end zone. Incredible!
This was one of the worst eras of football. All cheap shot dirty pro wrestling type stuff instead of just playing the game. Not much exciting scheme wise or highly skillful plays. NFL product got so much better in just 5-10 years after this.
It was a great defensive game but what does it say about the lack of offense.
I can see the reasoning behind keeping Rogers out of 99% of practice but the ROOKIE ?
Lack of rhythm and knowledge
Is what held Tribinski back and it showed.
People don’t wanna pay 7-15 thousand dollars a season to see their starting QB warm up in the first game of the season .
A BAD DECISION WAS MADE BY THE BEARS COACHING STAFF.
I met Walter Payton in 1986 at his restaurant/bar called The Acapulco Bar in Elk Grove Village. When he shook my hand he squeezed it so hard it hurt for a week. What great memories.
William the refrigerator Perry .
We are watching one of the greatest teams in NFL history.
The 1985 Chicago Bears. 💪🏻
Thanks for posting this video, Game . 🇺🇸🇺🇸
A Packer chases Walter Payton 12 yards out of bounds where Payton goes over the bench and the announcers say that it was unjust to throw the defender out of the game. A couple of idiots are who announced this game.
Aww, poor packers. Looks like they put a little too much mustard on the ball that day. So glad to see the Bears dominate and run over those annoying cheese heads. Another great ’85 season game, thanks for posting.
1:47:47 The GOAT 🐐 #34
Johnny Morris sucks!!!! Shut the fuck up!!! His puns and references are corny…”He’s had more endorsements than the man in the moon.” 🤮
LoL, what about that kid going for a hug after fridge’s TD catch? Denied. Ahuhahuha funny shit.
It’s unbelievable that Payton played behind a crummy offensive line for a crummy team for most of his career and still set all those records and finished his career basically injury free.
payton was just a treat to watch
0:59 Bears were not all about Defense; they were also great on Offense!!
The famous Ken Stils / Matt Suey hit
Why was there sooooo many penalties in this game? Please let the players play! Every down was called for a penalty.
10:02 that’s a shocker considering this was the 80’s when the league didn’t sugarcoat the qb’s and offensive players
the dislikes are from packer fans smh

Charles Martin was such a dirty cunt.
This made me laugh for some reason “don’t get excited buccaneer fan, Tampa is still winless”
ultimately, the Bears won…the only team the Bears lost to in 1985 was Mami..
Real football on real grass!
Now it’s flag football on crushed up car tires painted green and white.
😢When we were kings hank😢when we were kings
At 1900-1910, I did not know that President Bush Snr. was on the Packers coaching staff.

Charles Martin was and probably still is a POS.

How about #34 dropping his shoulder on that TD run, and leveling #91 who probably outweighed him by nearly 80 pounds?

The 2000 ravens I think
had better defend,s
the bear,s are over raded,
and they fucked Patten

Such a BS call when Mark Lee was disqualified from the game. Walter Payton, was pull him by the face mask and jersy
The great Detroit lions teams of 1985 beat the bears twice. 24-0 and 37 – 10. That year.
For as good as the 85 Bears were, opponents were able to get to McMahon, regularly. 43 sacks on the season is a lot to give up for a run first offense

And the Bears would have won a 2nd superbowl if that criminal Charles Martin didn’t bodyslam McMahon the following season.
Amazing that he was only suspended 2 games. Imagine if someone did that to Tom Brady.
When Packers where bad and pounching beg for rest of NFC North. Thank god for Mike Holmgren and Brett Favre becourse they would suck still
Zorn was terrible in this game.
I met Walter Payton in 1986 at his restaurant/bar called The Acapulco Bar in Elk Grove Village. When he shook my hand he squeezed it so hard it hurt for a week. What great memories.
1:39:43 the sound of the fun at the end of he 3rd quarter. Loved that.
i miss these days bad

damn the packers were some dirty cheap shot bitches….not much has changed since then
Could say alot i suppose . but I’ll say one thing. " they didn’t retire" DICK BUTKUS’S "Jersey . then they can "all" suck my ass".

why does nfl refuse to put old games on dvd I’d love to have these on dvd go packers
Back when the Packers didn’t have superman quarterbacks winning games for them. Funny how there weren’t that many Packer fans around back then.
Bears still suck.
22:20 area, Kenny Stills should have been ejected as well.
wow i just miss the good ol days of real football !!!!
Dan Hampton’s best game of the season. 2 sacks and 6 tackles.
NFL uniforms pretty much at their zenith in the 1980s. Big shoulder pads and sleeves on the jerseys. Vicious battle between the two clubs here.
