Dallas Cowboys 7 Round 2020 NFL Mock Draft | Pre Free Agency Edition, With Comp Picks

Dallas Cowboys Draft rumors feature a new 2020 NFL Mock Draft for all 7 rounds of the Cowboys draft picks! The 2020 NFL Draft will be here soon and with the NFL comp picks announced, it’s time for Cowboys Report host Tom Downey’s 3rd Cowboys Mock Draft.

This Cowboys 7 round mock draft includes a breakdown of each of the picks made and who else was on the board. NFL Free Agency will change a lot, but this is the final version before those rumors and news heat up and change the Cowboys’ plans.

Cowboys Nike Jerseys have had a price drop! Get a Zeke Elliott or Leighton Vander Esch Nike Jersey for just $79.99: http://chatsports.com/cowboysnike

The video has the details of the prospects, including strengths, weaknesses and fits on the Cowboys and who else was on the draft board, but the full list of picks is below:
Round 1: Javon Kinlaw (DT, South Carolina)
Round 2: Trevon Diggs (CB, Alabama)
Round 3: Kyle Dugger (S, Lenoir-Rhyne)
Round 4: Leki Fotu (DT, Utah)
Round 5: Devin Duvernay (WR, Texas)
Round 5 (Comp Pick): Antoine Brooks (DB, Maryland)
Round 7: Logan Wilson (LB, Wyoming)

NFL Mock Draft is built around different scenarios, so this time, Tom has the Cowboys passing on Alabama WR Jerry Jeudy and taking talented DT Javon Kinlaw out of South Carolina. He gets the Cowboys secondary help on Day 2, landing the surprisingly sliding CB Trevon Diggs and S Kyle Dugger. Remember: Never say never in the NFL Draft; crazy things happen.

Cowboys offense only gets one pick, with speedy Texas WR Devin Duvernay. Cowboys Special teams has been bad for awhile now and the Cowboys land two potential pieces in Antoine Brooks and Logan Wilson later on Day 3 in this 7 round NFL Mock Draft for the Cowboys.

The Cowboys have plenty of needs before free agency and the draft, with defense being among the most important. The Cowboys have several free agents at DT and CB and the current players haven’t played that well to begin with. Those areas will need to be upgraded, along with other spots like WR, S and of course special teams.

If we picked up snacks, or Chris Jones, or another monster free agent dt, then I can see taking jeudy

If M. Collins leaves, dallas has to draft a CONTRIBUTING DT rd1 because T Hill is still a boy amongst men. DONT BRING BACK CRAWFORD! Time to move on from T Smith before his value and back go to shit.

Jeudy won’t be there at 17. Dugger won’t be there at 82. Duvernay won’t be there at 164. Wilson won’t be there at 231.

They need to draft 2 of the undersized ball-hawks in the draft at CB & 1 at FS. Forget the 6’3" 220 lb Seattle legion of boom nonsense. Load up on these 5’9-5’10 CBs nobody else wants along with a converted 5’11" 195 lb ball hawk safety to cover in Nickle…3, 4 or 5 WR sets [that will be 50% of the time] + draft a college LB at about 6’1" 220 lb and put him at SS.

    While,

Getting real-l big up the middle [325 lb DT’s, a 260 MLB & a Roy Williams type killer SS]. They have the potential to field this type of defense if they would just listen to what their draft genius guru [Will McClay] has been trying to tell them for 3 FOKKIN years. He has also told them to move on from Witten and Amari Cooper + stock up on TE’s.

  27. 2tallbill on August 21, 2020 at 11:58 pm

You should take Chase Young in the second round! You cheated by picking players that won’t be around where you draft them.

  28. Adrian Moore on August 22, 2020 at 12:01 am

K, but it is so hard to pass on jeudy, and McCarthy may go to bat for jeudy and the "40 burger"!

  40. Wisdom of Nod! on August 22, 2020 at 12:10 am

CB is NOT a need for the Cowboys! Now that DC Richards is gone, we can start Jordan Lewis who is by far the best corner on the team AND A GAME CHANGER.
The cowboys should make a token 5 year, $55m offer to Amari Cooper and a 4 year $40m contract to Byron Jones so some suckers will take them and the boys will get. #2 draft choice for each in the supplemental draft.

    Then,

They should let DL Crawford and Witten walk to save $14m for their mediocre talent but the DC’s have 8 CB’s under contract. Start Lewis and Awozie backed by Brown and Bill [6’2" 205lbs] and draft:

1.) WR [CeeDee or Jerry Jeudy?]]
    2.) DT [big run stuffer]
    3.) TE
    4.) LB
    5.) WR
    6.) FS
    7.) KR/PR

Also, their misuse of Lewis and rookie DT Hill and DE’s Jelk & Armstrong was due to Jason Garrett’s and Richard’s stupid bias for size over talent and compliance over ability. Had those twin coached earlier…people like Lawrence Taylor, Hollywood Henderson, Brett Carve and Paul Horning would never had played cuz THEY weren’t choirboys. Babe fucking Ruth couldn’t play for them cuz he had his ways, too. Joe Morris, Gale Sayers and the "Flea" would’ve been cut cuz they love mediocrity but great coaches like Jimmy Johnson know how to make exceptions for the Michael Irvins and Nate Newtons. Lombardi worked with Horning as did Parcells with Taylor.

DT Hill and CB Lewis must play!!

  42. Adrian Moore on August 22, 2020 at 12:11 am

I watched a 3 round mock draft, and this idiot had us taking kristian fulton, okwara at 2, and davon Hamilton at 3. I quit watching and told him to quit doing mock drafts, his opinion didn’t matter!

  43. RageHunter2020 on August 22, 2020 at 12:14 am

If this happen it would be amazing

  44. Collin T Durling on August 22, 2020 at 12:14 am

McKinney just seems like a perfect fit. I watched a lot of bama last year and he just jumped off the screen. I think it would make sense to show a little love to the safety spot for once.

  45. Las Ghostridah on August 22, 2020 at 12:14 am

  48. Wisdom of Nod! on August 22, 2020 at 12:15 am

Also, offer Quinn $45m for 4 years with an option yr. and Randal Cobb a 4 yr. $25m salary. Cut 2 or 3 of the higher priced DL & OL [saving $15m] plus savings from letting Amari Cooper walk and Byron Jones sign elsewhere [$30m] + an enhanced salary cap would see the DC’s with $78m under the cap to spend.

They should prioritize one of the 6 big 320 lb + DT’s in free agency and 1 of the free agent LB’s for depth. They are solid at CB…just need to change their retarded philosophy of running ass-backwards and NEVER trying to face the got-damned ball while demanding that all of their CBs be 6’3" and 240 lbs. Even if Quinn demands too much [let him go], there are 14 quality DE edge rushers age 25-27 on the market. Most had 7 to 9 sacks last year, so, we may get 1 or 2 instead of Quinn if he is too pricey. There’s a glut of DTs and Pass rushers in free agency + a ton of quality young WRs in the draft. The only other need they have is for a quality PR and KR guy.

If they do this, i.e. follow Will McClay’s.lead, they will field the best roster in the NFL since 2016…when he also drafted them the best roster but was woefully inept at coaching all of that nearly unbelievable talent. Hopefully, we actually have a proven commodity at Head coach. Only San Fran and Los Angeles compare in talent in the NFC…and only Philadelphia and New Orleans may be superior with their tremendous coaching staffs + owners who know how to stay out of the FOKKIN way.

L.A. & San Fran have no backups, no depth and no money for free agents AND will lose a ton of good players that they cannot pay. Philadelphia has an excellent OL, solid QB, average running game, great TE, excellent young WRs, pathetic secondary, solid LBs and the best set of starting DTs in the business + good DEs…with an innovative head coach and Rock solid positional coaches. New Orleans has the best head coach in the NFC, a solid but aging OL, good running game, great QB, good WRs, good TE, excellent DL, solid LBs, average secondary with good assistants.

I think San Fran is the major threat cuz they have an old schule approach. Solid across the board.. N.O. is a little long in the toothe and more dependent on the health of their 40 yr. old QB being great every game. I honestly think L.A. may miss the playoffs. They have misallocated team salaries to the extent that they are way-y-y over the cap and loaded with unproductive injured players.

    So…

The window is still open…has been since 2016 when inept, bumbling head coaching was tolerated cuz someone went to an Eye-vee league school, looked prim and proper on the sidelines and could spell antidisestablishmentarianism. Nobody like that has ever won anything in the NFL. Marv Levy is the closest. He got within smelling distance while doing crossword puzzles on the sidelines in Latin.

We need a leader of MEN!!!

Will McClay has supplied the talent for 10 years. It has been negated by inept coaching and meddling ownership. Will that continue in "the days of our lives" "as the world Turns" during "the edge of night" as we cowboy fans "search for tomorrow" or a championship with the Dallas cowboys…the longest running soap opera on T.V.
