Deshaun Watson | Stronger Than One | Nike

Feeling a different level of scrutiny as a Black quarterback, Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson says he will no longer let that keep him from speaking out about social justice issues that matter to him.

As a black man growing up in Houston, Texas. Watson understands the platform he has to speak up against issues that affect the black community daily, to help make the necessary changes/continued awareness that our country needs. But to give those coming after him the motivation, strength and empowerment to make a difference off the field.

In partnership with Deshaun, we turned words into immediate action by supporting Yates high school in Houston’s historic Third Ward – the alma matter of George Floyd. To honor George’s memory and support Yates through this tumultuous year, the team worked with Deshaun to create custom uniforms for the squad ahead of their last regular season game. Following a 54-0 win in their new uniforms, Deshaun has gone even further by pledging college tuition support for two Yates students.

More social justice from Nike that doesn’t highlight the root cause of black people’s issues: themselves

I never buy the product of Nike discriminating against a Japanese. This company lets an Uygur person make slave labor in China and exploits it

The biggest mistake of the 2010s is the Bears missing out on Deshaun Watson or Patrick Mahomes

DeShaun Watson is a great dude. Nice to honor with "BROTHERHOOD" on back of home jerseys. It was nice to see in all fairness that the back of the away jerseys read "DIRTBAG".
