Voch, the reason I have a problem with the Tampa Two is it has two fatal flaws that usually get exposed in the playoffs. 1. You have to have a very physical and fast player who covers the middle and who can stay healthy the entire season/majority of his career. 2. You have to have a lead for that defense to be able to work properly. That defense is the reason why Peyton Manning didn’t win more Superbowls with the Colts. It’s a flawed system. I would rather the Cowboys model their defense after Seattle’s or Denver’s.

  2. matty O on February 19, 2020 at 6:21 pm

Thomas is looking more valuable with our new mlb. Would have really like matthiu but it is what it is.

  3. zachary knoll on February 19, 2020 at 6:23 pm

Criticized LVE at 13:00 mark, yet he attacked the gap and made a stand at the line. He’s a much, much, much better player than Rashaad Evans.

  4. Raymond Solis Jr. on February 19, 2020 at 6:24 pm

I didn’t like it but McCay knows what he’s doing

  5. TheCrownlessKing on February 19, 2020 at 6:25 pm

Bout time somebody opened their eyes, I was disappointed when I was seeing all the Cowboy fans reacting negatively about LVE being the pick at 19. I could care less if WR’s were on the board at the time, LB was the biggest need. There’s a reason we aren’t working for the Cowboys.

  6. dtowntexg on February 19, 2020 at 6:26 pm

Instrumental: Young Thug – Guwop 🔥🔥🔥🔥

  7. larry lomascolo on February 19, 2020 at 6:30 pm

they needed him,so take a oxy and chill

  8. David Sanders on February 19, 2020 at 6:31 pm

Conner Williams in round two helped this make more sense . . . We got the better lb and ol . . . I was only concerned we were going to miss out on ol.

  9. SwaggyD on February 19, 2020 at 6:31 pm

If he becomes a good player ,ima troll you Voch.

  10. MANSTER 54 on February 19, 2020 at 6:31 pm

HE can step up to the Line of scrimmage and help Tyrone Crawford who cannot take a double team and gets whipped by the top 20 OT’s in the league. Which help a 3 man strong defensive line with NO DEPTH other than a couple hopefuls, a constantly suspended player and Taco who has yet to prove anything.
Anything anyone else says is stupid and you don’t know the game. JJ is a faithful American who loves his players and coaches too much to change. He is also an idiot and his philosophy for the last 20 years is pathetic. Marinelli’s system is outdated and pitiful and worked 20 years ago as well. Top Defensive Lines (with depth) now dominate the NFL. Vikings, Jags, Titans, Falcons, Pats, Eagles (I despise) and even the Bucs. Collins DLaw and Irving have no help at all.

  11. logii on February 19, 2020 at 6:32 pm

props for the re-assessment on the logic of this pick. watching all the reactions of cowboys youtubers last night was as if they had just witnessed a murder scene haha. i like the pick. i think a lot of his weaknesses can be cleaned up with better coaching as you pointed out. i wanted hernandez 1st also but there is more than one way to approach the draft. also we weren’t privy to his private workouts or interviews that could have swayed them over just pure film.

i also thought for sure they were gonna pick landry as most had him graded in the top 20 but he fell out of the first round entirely. maybe they were afraid of his ability to play the run. it’s a good point in pointing out how many snaps is he gonna get in the rotation of dlaw, crawford, taco, tapper, ealy

  12. King King on February 19, 2020 at 6:33 pm

Spice1 intro bro? Dang, you went in there then. Straight Up Menice. You on it kinfolk!

  13. Dante Berrios on February 19, 2020 at 6:35 pm

Man Voch, I like your content and watch a lot of your videos. You ain’t fooling me with this one. I watched your tape breakdown of this guy and you highlighted the f outta his negatives. Which he has a lot of. This video is just damage control, trying to convince the world and yourself that the pick wasn’t horrible. Leighton is weak. The Cowboys about to get their asses run down if Sean Lee gets hurt again. Bad pick. The cowboys are just flat out betting on Zeke to carry the team and putting small pieces around that all depend on the run game.

  14. dtowntexg on February 19, 2020 at 6:37 pm

The more you think about the Leighton Vander Esch pick, the more it makes sense..

  15. Cab52 on February 19, 2020 at 6:39 pm

I liked him when we got him. I already knew he was a better coverage guy than most if not all other Lb’s in the draft and thats what we need a lock down guy in the middle

  16. HotRodJax on February 19, 2020 at 6:39 pm

I ALWAYS can run to you to quiet my fears. I feel a lot better now since the draft.

  17. Mr Wright on February 19, 2020 at 6:42 pm

To be fair to Vander Esch because I don’t like the pick either, but to be fair, if he played another season and produced about the same then this would be a steal. I do believe if he played the 2018 college season he would put up huge numbers again and that would make him a top ten pick.

  18. Chad Suratt on February 19, 2020 at 6:43 pm

    Good video

  19. warfan1994 on February 19, 2020 at 6:44 pm

Would you have been more pleased with rashaan Evans?

  20. Gabriel Germaine on February 19, 2020 at 6:44 pm

Matthew Thomas of Florida St. would have had the same production if he play for BS or in that conference 💯 He’s 6’4" 230 pounds and is more athletic than Vander Esch, he ran a 4.5 40💯 The only difference, Vander Esch was drafted in the 1st round and Matthews went undrafted💯The dline still isn’t ready, they should have drafted Tim Settles in the 4th round instead of another DE

  21. Chris Smith on February 19, 2020 at 6:45 pm

Regardless Dallas needed a Sean Lee type player cause he rarely plays 16 games….if Jaylon was a hundred percent we would have traded up for Derwin James

  22. James K on February 19, 2020 at 6:45 pm

My only qualm is Rashaan Evans. You really think he’s a better fit than him? Please elaborate, because I guarantee many of us are trying to grasp this…

  23. Montaque Jones on February 19, 2020 at 6:46 pm

Mark Holmes brought me here. Keep up the great work.#cowboysnation

  24. Kevin O'Hare on February 19, 2020 at 6:47 pm

I’m not a fan of the Vander Esch pick. However; his primary issues can be corrected by good coaching and a willing attitude to learn. So if he can learn to take on blocks, shed, and be better working through trash, he has a chance to be a very good player. We just have to hope he develops well.

  25. Shane Donovan on February 19, 2020 at 6:47 pm

Boisie state vs. virginia 7:34 left in the 3rd quarter Leighton Vander Esch finally uses his hands and beats a double team pancakeing one of the linemen, hopefully thats a sign of things to come, vander esch is still an extremely raw talent and he is also young, i think he can develop into a tougher and better player and i think he can do it fast, i also believe that he does that shoulder thing because he does not trust his strength in his arms and honestly neither do i, he has a tendency to avoid contact because he cannot win at the point of attack and he knows it, plus hes not going to bring you down unless he trips you or puts his body weight into you and runs through you which makes me question his upper body strength in general, he may be 250 lbs but i think that he needs more explosive strength, this will improve his ability to explode into contact, something he rarely does to anyone, get tyron to show this country boy how to really work out and we might just have something special on our hands

  26. matty O on February 19, 2020 at 6:47 pm

You hope the hype you just taking it with a grain of salt. I gotcha.

  27. Tim C. on February 19, 2020 at 6:48 pm

Watch the highlight where he has a free shot to the back of the QB. ( against Washington St.) People want to compare him to Urlacher, but Urlacher would have DESTROYED the QB. If you have an open lane to the back of a QB and you can’t decleat the guy, then that bothers me a bit. Yes, you can just be a great tackler that makes all the right reads, but I want the guy that can make that jarring hit. I like that for the middle of my defense.. he should be an intimidater! I just don’t think he has enough in his butt and thighs to make big hits. Ok, he can still be a good player and not make the big hits… but not sure I’m a fan of that!

  28. Argos Brave on February 19, 2020 at 6:49 pm

2 years with Sean Lee… he could be pro bowl calibur. We’ll see how he develops

  29. Garden State Raider , on February 19, 2020 at 6:49 pm

Vander is a bum Jerry really up this pick .they say new England was gonna get "MY REACTION SO WHAT" The guy is soft.Marinelli is a great DC but he is not god and then they trade for jihad😆😆😆😆😆😆 good luck cowbys drop the ball face it .He cant cover

  30. Mike Petro Petty on February 19, 2020 at 6:49 pm

Does he start at MLB week, 1?

  31. Charles Lundy on February 19, 2020 at 6:50 pm

if we get BJ HILL (DT), we will be smoking

  32. Brian Glaze on February 19, 2020 at 6:55 pm

One thing I learned to never doubt about Cowboys drafting….always trust them with Boise State picks 😂. Orlando Scandrick, Kellen Moore, Demarcus Lawrence.

  33. Jamie Hunt on February 19, 2020 at 6:55 pm

He going to learn from one of the best LB in the NFL. I could see him in a Pro Bowl in 2 years

  34. Tyler Ward on February 19, 2020 at 6:56 pm

    Voch you gotta be mad

  35. AC Sports & Entertainment on February 19, 2020 at 6:58 pm

My man Voch with the great analysis keep it up fam

  36. j reid on February 19, 2020 at 6:59 pm

So you mean to tell me we signed a 2018 bobby carpenter

  37. Jacolby Elliott on February 19, 2020 at 7:00 pm

Reports are that he is ROBOT!!!!!!!!

  38. Michael Salazar on February 19, 2020 at 7:01 pm

So happy we picked LVE in the 1st round.
His been a beast all Season 🔥🔥🔥

  39. Joe Pittman on February 19, 2020 at 7:04 pm

Hitting is a must in Dallas system. You have to be able to cover and TACKLE!!!! We have seen cats get CUT out of nowhere for not hitting.

  40. Chris Smith on February 19, 2020 at 7:04 pm

Anyone who wanted Harold Landry is dumb because we already got a bunch of studs at DE Irving and Lawrence are beasts people dont get that Irving had 7 sacks in 8 games….thats pace for 14….so 14 and 14.5 would be the best DE combo

  41. Dennis Williams on February 19, 2020 at 7:06 pm

Will Hernandez is going early tonight to the giants, cowboys should have drafted him. What’s the bigger need
    o line or lb corp?

  42. @pplebite on February 19, 2020 at 7:06 pm

He didn’t do jack in that BYU game! He was about the equivalent of a blocking dummy in that game.

  43. Chris Castro on February 19, 2020 at 7:07 pm

Im a fan of the pick.. I think people dont project enough when thinking about the pick. You pick a player for the future & not there current state.

  44. Kyran Black on February 19, 2020 at 7:08 pm

Vander Esch was a solid pick.
They probably could’ve traded back for him but I knew they wanted him.
Lee, Vander Esch and Smith should make one of the best LB cores in the league behind a underrated DLine.

  45. Ethan VanderHoff on February 19, 2020 at 7:08 pm

Don’t let this video distract you from the fact that Kolton Miller was taken in the first round

  46. Joe Pittman on February 19, 2020 at 7:10 pm

LVE!! LVE!!! LVE!!! Build up two levels of defense to alleviate pressure on D. We have a high potential Secondary and LB Corps. We will still be looking for a FS for sure. We have until trade deadline. Training Camp will find us something good. We can find something that comes out of TC. But, this is a good draft. The right decision and we got a swing tackle… we needed one for 3 years.

  47. Joe Pittman on February 19, 2020 at 7:11 pm
  48. jiant 2520 on February 19, 2020 at 7:11 pm

Bout to be a lot of nice undrafted FAs!

  49. Ace X on February 19, 2020 at 7:14 pm

Roquan is way better than Vander Esch but he doesn’t have that size

  50. Calvin Johnson on February 19, 2020 at 7:18 pm

This guy is day one starter….
