I’m excited about seeing Gardner Minshew throw some passes I think I’m more excited about seeing Nick Foles tho

10:55 Jags front Office already said there picking up Jalen Ramseys 5th year option. He will most certainly be a Jaguar next year and many more years after that.

Minshew was 4th or 5th in Heisman voting last year too

Gardner’s arm strength throwing the football is a product of his form. He has the arm strength is form just needs correcting.

You CANNOT have watched Gardner Minshew’s games, or you would not be harping about his "arm strength".  There isn’t one game we missed!  He’s made many long throws!  You also need to listen to what Mike Leach has said about Gardner.  Give me a friggin’ break.  You listen WAY TOO MUCH to the Sports Media.  Minshew is a smart QB and does what he NEEDS to do depending on what the Defense gives him.   Wait & see.  His INT’s were minimal for a whole season, only 9 which compares to Kyler Murray’s 7.  His pass completion rate was 71%.  Duhh… Regarding Foles, who knows?

You should really add the intangibles that Minshew brings to the table in terms of being a leader and the charisma he possesses. I would also hold off on saying things like “that’s why he’s a back up qb” etc etc. I think if given the right circumstances, he may flourish at this level. Other than that, I think your assessment is more than fair.

With Foles the Jaguars will likely soon be considered a team with a very good and exciting passing attack that also runs the ball very effectively. As you said, Foles likes to go deep with his passes, and the Jaguars’ receivers should be able to run past coverage and get those deep passes, as the Jaguars’ receivers all have exceptional speed. Regarding Minshew, check out what college quarterback Zac says about Minshew at his Strong Opinion Sports YouTube channel. He also thinks Minshew has the potential to succeed in the NFL, except for Minshew’s inability to throw deep effectively. He thinks Minshew’s problem is not a lack of arm strength, but poor mechanics (throwing with reduced power because he uses only his arm and not his arm together with leverage from his legs). If so, Minshew might be able to eventually follow Foles as the Jaguars’ starting quarterback if Minshew can improve his ability to throw deep by working on his mechanics.
