Whenever I played madden franchise I would always try and trade for luke. You can tell he doesnt want to retire but any more head hits and it will make him a veggie. Good for him.

  7. Jonathan M. on February 19, 2020 at 6:30 pm

i didn’t quit football because of how much Kuechly motivated me. i played just like him, or at least tried to, and I would study so much film compared to everyone else and it made me a better middle linebacker. you will always be my favorite Middle Linebacker and you’ll always be the best. hope your retirement is amazing man.

This guy was the best defensive player in football at times. Excellent MLB. Sad for NFL

  11. Robert Townsend on February 19, 2020 at 6:34 pm

Luke, you absolutely made the right decision, even though your fans will miss you. Why not consider coming back as an NFL coach? With your knowledge and smarts, you would make a great coach and still be close to the game. Just a suggestion. We’re behind you and love you, whatever you decide.

  12. Adam Davis on February 19, 2020 at 6:34 pm

Will be the best pro linebacker coach in the history of the NFL.

As a falcons fan I’m glad we dont have to play you twice a year, as a football fan I’m sad to see you retire. Not only one of the smartest linebackers to play but one of the smartest players to play the game. Much respect, enjoy retirement.

  28. Trident Slayz on February 19, 2020 at 6:49 pm

He’s retiring cuz the NFL is rigged Goodell just sits there and picks who he wants to win. Makes me sick cuz most ppl are just blind

  30. Cody Lee Keller on February 19, 2020 at 6:55 pm

Thank you Luke. You and Brian Cushing were always my football role models back in high school. As a former ILB, it’ll hurt me to not see you on the field anymore, but I know you gotta do what you gotta do. Love you, man, and go kick ass in your future endeavors!

Luke you are an excellent player and still young line backer. Please don’t go too soon, we are a lot of fans in México that follows you and the panthers games!
You are a fierce PRO LB but a gentleman of this game also!

  48. Vidhaath Yuva on February 19, 2020 at 7:11 pm

Panthers are going to be the 3rd team to go 0-16

  49. Jarvis who on February 19, 2020 at 7:16 pm

    His nose said. )

  50. Boy Boy on February 19, 2020 at 7:18 pm

I think a long time ago Luke decided if he had gotten 1 more concussion he would retire. Then it happened. He was so devastated he cried while they were taking him off the field. No player wants to end their career on an injury. Steve Smith had the same reaction with the Ravens when he injured his leg the season b4 he retired

I think he went against his promise to himself and held on because the Panthers were contenders and he wanted to be there for his teammates. It appears now the Panthers will be rebuilding so Luke figures now is as good a time as any to retire. Salute to Luke. You are a true warrior
