Matt Patricia: ‘We’re trying to build the Detroit Lions’ way’ | Pro Football Talk | NBC Sports

  1. Nard Muse on March 12, 2020 at 10:23 pm

Patricia speaks with passion & it sounds good when your winning but when your losing it sounds like that guy off Charlie Brown……

  2. My Name Is Jon on March 12, 2020 at 10:24 pm

Bob Quinn said 9-7 wasn’t good enough. Then hires a guy that goes 9-23 his first 2 seasons. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

  3. Joe Kowalski on March 12, 2020 at 10:27 pm

Good defensive coach not a good head coach make him Lions defensive cordinater bring in a head coach that knows what he is doing. Wow they have really grown 3_12_1 that’s growing?

  4. Brian Satterlee Music on March 12, 2020 at 10:27 pm

The Lions Way?? I’m a Lions fan, always will be.. But I’m not a fan of this guy or Bob Quinn.. They’re not building it The Lions Way.. They’re trying be the Patriots.. It’s not working!! Im nervous what stupid move they’re gonna do this offseason and the Draft.. I Dont trust those guys

  5. HoosierHandgunner on March 12, 2020 at 10:28 pm

He will be fired next season. Terrible coach

  6. Jerrold Sipocz on March 12, 2020 at 10:32 pm

I was not a fan of this hire when the Lions made it. The Lions were a playoff team when he took them over (a bad playoff team) but a winning team. They’ve been very very bad since he has taken them over. They’re are multi times he’s made bad game management decisions which have affected the Lions negatively. The defense is worst then ever. That being said I think when a coach is hired that he deserves at least 3 years. Change doesn’t happen instantly so hopefully next year’s result is different.

  7. ken wesaw on March 12, 2020 at 10:32 pm

Nobody pulls for the lions harder than me but you can’t blame me for being sceptical 🦁🦁🦁

  8. Nazmus Sifat on March 12, 2020 at 10:32 pm

I am quite happy with this year’s play though. They didn’t win a lot but scared the opponents. Also good calls are expected in 2020. Losing a game for bad calls are not acceptable.

  9. T Brackett on March 12, 2020 at 10:32 pm

The Lions way is the Patriots way… but we’ll see how good the pats are without Brady. 32nd ranked defense.

  10. Michael LeFlore on March 12, 2020 at 10:35 pm

He just remind me of the Matt we had before for 10 years. Saying the same things .

  11. Joshua Cole on March 12, 2020 at 10:36 pm

draft tua and force a trade

  12. Cory Williams on March 12, 2020 at 10:37 pm

    Matt is an absolute unit

  13. Detroit lions Fan4life on March 12, 2020 at 10:38 pm

Everybody hates on the lions I dont get it we get screwed out of games refs dictate our games so much only real fans that would know

  14. WilliamHbadass on March 12, 2020 at 10:39 pm

The Patricia way is not knowing how to finish a game with the lead.

  15. Zack Hurwitz on March 12, 2020 at 10:42 pm

The Lion way: So find a generational talent and waste their career??…

  16. Eric Brunett on March 12, 2020 at 10:42 pm

Detroit just had there worst season on defense since there winless season. They had the Chiefs at forth and long for the win and the packers beat this year but have only blown game after game under patrica. There also has been no more Stafford comebacks with patrica but they better draft defense in the first round this year.

  17. Hatchet Jack on March 12, 2020 at 10:42 pm

lose every year and come up with excuses…..that’s the lions way

  18. Jamal Woodruff on March 12, 2020 at 10:44 pm

Winning the division would be a good step this year

  19. golions13579 on March 12, 2020 at 10:44 pm

If everything finally clicks and the Lions go out and win the NFC North, there will be soooooo many SoL fans eating their words. Every coach deserves 3 years. Had the ball bounced our way a play here and a play there, we would have been 7-1 to start the season. Having said that, if we aren’t any better this season, it’s time to move on.

  20. OneTime Gregory on March 12, 2020 at 10:45 pm

You have to be a much better coach first.

  21. White Bleach on March 12, 2020 at 10:45 pm

    Fire this clown

  22. A_BruhMan on March 12, 2020 at 10:46 pm

😂🤣 9-22-1. He goin be outta here after next season

  23. zDrzzyz on March 12, 2020 at 10:47 pm

Finally some coach realizes that they have to bring the same things back that got the old lions to all of those super bowls they went to

  24. Endz Here on March 12, 2020 at 10:47 pm

    WOW. Fast talker ALERT.

  25. The Packer Smacker on March 12, 2020 at 10:47 pm

"The lions way" lmao when has that ever worked?

  26. theLOUISIANIMAL1337 on March 12, 2020 at 10:48 pm

"The Lions way" hasn’t been working since ever. So maybe build literally any other way?

  27. James Watson on March 12, 2020 at 10:50 pm

His football knowledge? That made me laugh. Calls timeouts to help the other team.

  28. Lone Ranger Posse on March 12, 2020 at 10:50 pm

The Lions have a great coach. Let’s all hope yr. 3 is a super winner for the Lions.

  29. Christopher Jackson on March 12, 2020 at 10:52 pm

Year 3 gonna be good for the lions

  30. B Rus on March 12, 2020 at 10:53 pm

Oh yes the "Lions Way", to trade away key players (Diggs) and run their best players into early retirement

  31. Prag Patel on March 12, 2020 at 10:53 pm

Lions always gonna lions. On another note, wheres his pencil?

  32. Mark Douglas on March 12, 2020 at 10:57 pm

"Were trying to build the Detroit lions way"
Well you’ve done a great job of the "Lions way" so far..(losing)

  33. Noah Vassallo on March 12, 2020 at 10:58 pm

Does anyone think he was late to this interview as well?

  34. Brian Cranford on March 12, 2020 at 11:00 pm

We fired Jim Caldwell for this clown

  35. KING of LIONS on March 12, 2020 at 11:04 pm

9-22-1 Why is he on TV?

  36. Matthew Billman on March 12, 2020 at 11:06 pm

Love this guy. He gets such a bad rep trying to fix the worst franchise in NFL history. It’s a theme where everyone seems to flourish once they leave Detroit. Hope that doesn’t happen to MP.

  37. Joe Galloway on March 12, 2020 at 11:10 pm

All of you stupid lions fans need to realize we were better with Caldwell and if you dont believe me just wait till the next season we we win only 6 games BET!

  38. Kawona McCray on March 12, 2020 at 11:11 pm

He is a new coach this is his first time being a head coach, people need to chill and be patient. Y’all don’t Kno how hard it is for him to be getting bashed over something he didn’t do. It’s not his fault that we’ve been losing for decades

  39. John Litchfield on March 12, 2020 at 11:12 pm

The Lions way. 63 years of mediocrity, or worse. Thanks for keeping the streak going Patricia.

  40. paul thomas on March 12, 2020 at 11:13 pm

i would rather see him explain why we got rid of quandre diggs for a 5th round pick. 5th round. how does that make sense? No GM in the world would pass that deal up.

  41. Jerry W on March 12, 2020 at 11:13 pm

So no playoffs or winning more than nine games a year. That’s lions football.

  42. Keith Moore on March 12, 2020 at 11:14 pm

Yada yada yada …. You’ve shown that you suck as a head coach and sounds like you still have your head up your Azz. You and Quinn were given another season because of Ford’s misguided sense of loyalty. You are both insecure and afraid to actually step up and RUN THE TEAM. Seems that you are more interested in making friends and handing out participation accolades, then making this your team. The lack of urgency in your interview is very apparent and goes to show that this 2020 season is going to be, " business as usual" (P.S. When Martha does finally give you two the boot, Please take broke back Stafford with you )

  43. Justin Chilcutt on March 12, 2020 at 11:14 pm

I actually like Matt pratticia. We only lose so much because of our teams injuries. Look what happen to the 49ers they where on of the worst teams in last year because of injuries and now they just won the super bowl. It should never be one persons fault because it’s a team game

  44. ballout232 9 on March 12, 2020 at 11:14 pm

Lions have everything they need on offense to be top 10 next year no excuse to not be 8-8 or above. Defense is the issue

  45. Brenden Verlinden on March 12, 2020 at 11:14 pm

    Please don’t ruin Stafford’s career.

  46. David Larue on March 12, 2020 at 11:16 pm

I’m a lions fan 😕 and this organization is a fat Honolulu Blue shirt and silver JOKE!!!

  47. RickDesotell on March 12, 2020 at 11:17 pm

Lions going backwards…not sure what these guys are talking about. Bad drafts, bad in game coaching decisions, they never stand up to NFL for being screwed by officials…too many to list them all.

  48. Jason White on March 12, 2020 at 11:19 pm

  49. John R Ziemba on March 12, 2020 at 11:19 pm

The problem is that this team will win 8 games, and that will be considered a success, and he will be rewarded with a 5 year extension.

  50. Mark Symbala on March 12, 2020 at 11:20 pm

    What is the lions way?
