New York Giants add VALUE ACROSS THE BOARD in the NFL Draft | 2020 NFL Draft | CBS Sports HQ

The Giants addressed their clear need to improve the offensive line early on Thursday, taking Andrew Thomas with the fourth overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft. On Day 2, the Giants took a player who seemed like a lock to go on Day 1 in McKinney and then made sure to find another offensive tackle. GM Dave Gettleman told reporters he wants to fix the offensive line once and for all and this is an excellent start. Thomas and Peart have the two longest arms in the class, so he’s got a type.

Giants failed by not taking Simmons

  2. Hill Grant on June 27, 2020 at 11:00 pm

    Should have picked up brown

  3. Dee Nyce on June 27, 2020 at 11:05 pm

Agreed. It wasn’t the sexist picks, but they had a solid draft. They have a lot high character guys with athletic talent.

The giants are an elite edge rusher and an above average replacement for solder away from contending. They should be able to fill those holes next year in the draft/free agency

  5. Timothy Frith on June 27, 2020 at 11:06 pm

The Giants will trade a 2021 1st-round pick and 2022 1st- and 4th-round picks to the Colts in exchange for Ryan Kelly and 2022 2nd- and 6th-round picks and trade a 2021 3rd-round pick and 2022 3rd- and 7th-round picks to the Jaguars in exchange for Yannick Ngakoue and 2022 5th- and conditional 7th-round picks. Xavier McKinney will replace Antoine Bethea as the Giants’ starting free safety.

They might look for a trade for WR before season starts

Thomas and Wilson was by far the best ot duo. Wilson is a sophomore1& 2 yrs the younger so glad my Titans got him at 29 cause if he had returned his junior year he would’ve been the #1 ot off the board next year.
Great grab for giants I agree he was hands down the best ot ready to play now.

Too Safe To be great, safe gets you 8 and 8, No Becton Stronger, faster, huge, No 4:39 linebacker Isiah Simmons, no Chance for 4th overall pick to be Khalil Mack, Safe gets you 8 and 8, No 4.33 Wide receivers, 6, 3 wide receivers, Golden Tate and Sterling Shephard not going to get the job done, safe! 8 and 8 what Jason Garrett has done most of his Career. Golden Tate grossly overpaid no separation.

So basically we drafting in the top 5 next year again 👏

High character with a little less talent I’ll take over low character with a little more talent ever time.

  13. Matthew Wrede on June 27, 2020 at 11:23 pm

I like the draft they had

  14. Andrew Schiff on June 27, 2020 at 11:28 pm

One question: Who is going to play center for the Giants?

My good friend is a Giants fan living in Cleveland (I’m a browns fan) and he is pissed with the Giants for their draft selections. He wanted a good receiver and I don’t know the Giants well enough to give proper input. Do the Giants require a better receiving core? Was a receiver more important in the eyes of other Giants fans? I’d like to here your input, honestly I’m rooting for you guys as well because of my buddy.

Gotta be honest, that’s a tempting pitch at the end

  20. Benito Diaz on June 27, 2020 at 11:37 pm

Giants need a pass rusher. And they could compete

    Giants 👎

  22. D.A. Heath on June 27, 2020 at 11:40 pm

They picked Thomas for Saquon, because he is athletic and can run and block.

Why is Hefty Lefty throwing with his right hand in the office picture?

  24. Alex Dragowski on June 27, 2020 at 11:41 pm

The draft was very telling to me. Nice blend of Judge and D.G. These were New England players taken. Solid football players, nothing flashy. Yet young men of high character, experience, and durability. You know Reese would’ve taken Simmons, and a wide-out, ignoring the O-line till later in the draft.

Giants fans can’t be mad with this draft. Even 7th rounders can be intriguing.

  29. Dadson worldwide on June 27, 2020 at 11:52 pm

It kills me hearing some of these grades. Yes it’s bad picks. But if your picking in the first half your getting 3 players in that give ir take top 100 players and the last half get 2. Can’t possibly expect picking what is c range to come up with much more than that .

I’m not a fan of the Andrew Thomas pick. I think he’s got a high floor but a lower ceiling among tackles in this draft. With a freak like Isaiah Simmons available, I didn’t like going tackle, and Thomas was my #3 tackle. That being said, Gettleman nailed the rest of the draft. Let’s see how it plays out.

Th giants did good this draft.
