(nfl) 2008 Detroit Lions 0-16 Highlights/Lowlights

The first 0-16 and currently only team in nfl history (2016 Cleveland Browns and 1980 New Orleans Saints came close) and the first winless team since the 1982 Baltimore Colts. These are the “highlights”, or shall I say “lowlights”.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any footage for 4 out of the 16 games, and limited footage for the colts matchup (only highlights from one player).

The whole regular season schedule for the 2008 Detroit Lions:

Week 1: Atlanta Falcons 34, Detroit Lions 21
Week 2: Green Bay Packers 48, Detroit Lions 25
Week 3: San Francisco 49ers 31, Detroit Lions 13
Week 4: Bye week, only non-loss of the season
Week 5: Chicago Bears 34, Detroit Lions 7
Week 6: Minnesota Vikings 12, Detroit Lions 10
Week 7: Houston Texans 28, Detroit Lions 21
Week 8: Washington Redskins 25, Detroit Lions 17
Week 9: Chicago Bears 27, Detroit Lions 23
Week 10: Jacksonville Jaguars 38, Detroit Lions 14 (no footage)
Week 11: Carolina Panthers 31, Detroit Lions 22 (no footage)
Week 12: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 38, Detroit Lions 20
Week 13 Thanksgiving: Tennessee Titans 47, Detroit Lions 10

Week 14: Minnesota Vikings 20, Detroit Lions 16 (no footage)
Week 15: Indianapolis Colts 31, Detroit Lions 21 (limited footage)
Week 16: New Orleans Saints 42, Detroit Lions 7 (no footage)

I like and respect Calvin Johnson but he didn’t deserve that about Lions went 0-16

  2. xed xed on February 25, 2020 at 7:51 pm

Coming from a Packers fan, you can imagine how nervous I was with that last game

The Lions are so bad they make the teams they’re playing against in this video look legendary.

Sadly this was likely the closest they’ll get to a significant accomplishment. But hey, on a positive note its proof that you can suck at your job and still make loads of cash!

Even if the conspiracy theories about the NFL are true, what’s the benefit of having a team go 0-16? Lol just to troll the fans?

  21. Hunter Williams on February 25, 2020 at 8:14 pm

Any team that played the 2008 Lions and the 2017 Browns could literslly beat the heck out of them!

Lets compare both 0-16 teams from how they improved following that record

    2008 Lions
    Drafted Matthew Stafford
    Went 2-14 next year

    2017 Browns
    Drafted Baker Mayfield
    Went 7-8-1 next year

  35. SwitcherooU on February 25, 2020 at 8:29 pm

Sad to see Daunte at this point in his career. At one point, he was huge and strong and had a real cannon…and here, he had none of those things.

  36. Jayaganesh Swaminathan on February 25, 2020 at 8:30 pm

Orlovsky is the “analyst” at ESPN ripping apart Freddie Kitchens and Baker Mayfield..

  37. Jack Sharon on February 25, 2020 at 8:30 pm

Wow same lions but different problems back then, the whole facility was messed up, they had awfully coached players, terrible coaches, and u name it. The Lions in the 2000s decade were so bad that they almost decided to cancel on the team and end them completely and not sell them. Today we literally only have bad staff but at the same time 2019 Lions had to have the worst luck in NFL history, maybe even North American sports history, the injuries and refs also hit them harder than any other Pro sports teams and in the first few games of the season, they looked like the new powerhouse team until everyone got hurt and refs treated them like shit. We won’t have bad luck this year in 2020, 2020-2025 will likely be the best Lions era since the 1960s, yet 2019 should’ve been the start. Ngl the 2019 season (record didn’t show it) could tell us our future is about to shine within this year and if it wasn’t for the curse of the lions, 2013-present we would be a machine like for real.
