god this piece is so terrible. Centurylink was not designed to make noise. It was designed after Washington Huskies stadium to 1. cover as many fans from the elements as possible without playing in a dome. 2. provide great sight lines through the end into Seattle and 3. To make it as vertical as possible with overhangs so even cheaper upper deck seats were relatively close to the action. Get a clue ESPN
Hey there are words at the bottom left of the video, and it says "Loudest NFL Stadium". So don’t get mad when you watch Sports Science and they explain the design of the loudest "Stadium" in the NFL, and not the lungs and the screaming of a chiefs fan!
Just really quick for those envious people calling Seahawk fans "bandwagon" when did the Hawks retire the number 12 in honor of the incredibly loud and passionate fans?…is it A). After the Seahawks started winning? B). Right after they won their first Super Bowl? Or C). Back when they played in the fucking Kingdome in ’84 years before we started getting media attention? DING DING DING WE HAVE A WINNER.
You are stuffers, what you got down there ain’t real. Any records should have an asterisk in front of it. Pretenders. Give other teams a stadium sized megaphone and they could break the record as well.
It’s no surprise, they haven’t won anything until recently when the fans realized they have to help their team more to even have a shot at winning. lol
Cheating bandwagon Hawk fans will do anything to claim that they are the loudest stadium in NFL. They want to prove to everyone that they are not bandwagon fans, but we all know cheahawk fans came out about 3 years ago. LOL
Whaaa cheathawks….boo hooo… my team blows and the Seahawks just keep getting better and are the best team in the league right now…..WAAAA snivel snivel…. Poor Joe Johnson, whatever team he likes is horrible… bet it’s the 40 whiners because he just keeps getting madder…..Jim Hardon wants more money than the 9ers want to pay …. let’s all watch and laugh as they get beat by the Rams Cards and Hawks all year and don’t make the playoffs…..damn this is fun!
Back in the Kingdome days, it was loud as hell there too! One game the refs threatened to penalize the Seahawks if the crowd didn’t quiet down. I know the national crowd likes to think that Seahawks fans were nowhere to be found before 2012 but, 12th man has been going strong since the 80’s.
It’s just hard to noticed sometimes since we’re up here in "Southern Alaska"
Some people here do have a point. I can’t recall any Seahawks fans getting noticed before 2012. Your fan base before that was as quiet as a church mouse, never saw any of their fans on facebook, youtube, or anywhere for that matter really. No doubt the Seahawks are a great team and deserve recognition but I do believe their fan base is largely composed of fair weather fans. In their defense though, every team that wins a Super Bowl experiences an immediate increase in their fan base because of band wagoners and fair weather fans so it’s to be expected.
I think we should sue ESPN for slander. They are stating as fact something that is purely speculation. Did any one consider the Kingdome? It was much louder in that place.. painfully loud. So loud in fact that the 12’s and the dome were responsible for the now defunct crowd noise rule. I have been to other stadiums around the NFL, including other domes. People JUST AREN’T as raucous as the 12’s in other places. They just aren’t. KC is pretty damn loud, but they have 20,000 more seats than Century Link. It’s a "heavier" loud at Arrowhead. Hard to explain unless you have been there. But all this crap about how the stadium in Seattle was designed to be loud is horse dung. Unless the designers publicly concede that it was designed to do that, I’ll never buy it.

…And Arrowhead stadium is not covered, built outwards, with concrete and plastic seats.. 142.2 Dbs..
The difference:
Century Link is loud..
Chiefs fans are loud..er
#Chiefs
1:09 action green jerseys for the Seahawks in 2014
Loudest fans but the lamest plastic fans of them all.
Imagine if the patriots built this kind of stadium, they’d make us tear it down

SEATTLE Seahawks is my favorite NFL team 😀

Oh look who’s back in the Super Bowl?!
Chiefs fans do it with an open design. Now arrowhead is huge but chiefs fans are probably some of the loudest and drunkest fans out there.
Update:As of Monday night of September 29 Arrowhead Stadium is again the loudest.
This shows how impressive the Chief’s fans are. They are almost as loud as the Seahawks, but they do it without a rigged stadium!
I’m going on the 24th
GO SEAHAWKS THE 12 man I dont live in Seattle I wish but I live in crapy MO

GREAT! now do arrowhead 😈
Yea bitch Seattle all day"
More like their "die hard." The 12th man didn’t actually come until 2012.
Look at those Fans! ya fans……BANDWAGON
2nd loudest stadium in the NFL! Definitely loudest dome though.
Another thrown super bowl or two, and the bandwagoners will be the quietest stadium in the league
It was a great stadium so sad..
Go hawks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Got a lot of respect for Seahawk fans for taking their record back and this is coming from a Chiefs fan!
Go hawks!
Finally we won
Fuck that stadium.
this is like Cowboys Stadium
I went there in I think ’06 and it really didn’t seem very loud to me. There was also no small amount of empty seats.
I will say that the hot dogs there kicked some serious ass though. Really might have been the best I ever had.
this fans sucks
the best fans in the world are the european football fans like fans from turkey, greece, croatia and more
Less false starts than the Cardinals at home
The fans do a good job, but let’s give the real props to the engineers who designed this stadium!
unfair competitive advantage. PED hawks strike again. CHEATERS.
RICHARD SHERMANNNNNNNNNNNNNN
Fucking shit team,fan and city….
Come to Boston and u will see the real fan is…GO GO GO Patriot
I asked God if this was true and he said no, so this is all false.

"Die hard fans" haha yeah right
Chiefs still hold the record, with their normal stadium. Go chiefs

Whelp it looks like Seahawk fan pride gets knocked down a peg lol. Bunch of posers
Go Hawks !

What was it, 137? 139? That’s cute.
