AFC was so trashy back then. Looked like watching a college football game.

This was the first Super Bowl I saw my team win. Nostalgia

Steve Young owed SF a chip! After Montana went out in the NFC Championship game, young, craig and SF lost the game (they were up when Montana went out injured). Then Montana loses his job….if Young wouldn’t have got at least the 1 he did, the Montana trade would have been a disgrace IMO. Still was to me

I’m so proud of Steve Young

I’ll never forget this Super Bowl victory by the 49ers. They scored 49 points matching their team name. I hope they win today against the Kansas City Chiefs

everyone here is talking about the niners… but no one seems to talk about how the did the freaking chargers get to the superbowl! 😯

Talked about smash mouth football. Also where the hell is the score???

  12. hoyit on March 7, 2020 at 11:47 pm

I’m not a Niners fan or anything, but man it really surprises me how Steve is never really mentioned in the all time greatest quarterbacks discussion. I remember growing up in the 90s as a Packer fan and watching this guy running and throwing all over the place putting up sick numbers with record qb ratings. Watching him here reminds me of how smooth a passer he was. That lefty delivery off the play action was a thing of beauty. I know he had a shortened career but there was a solid stretch where Steve was killing it.

Ricky Watters was a great RB. He doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Seven seasons with over 1,000 yards rushing in only 9 + seasons. 78 rushing TD’s and 10,643 career rushing yards in only 144 games. He also has 4,248 yards receiving and 13 receiving TD’s. There are guys in the HOF that don’t have numbers even close to that. 5 time pro bowl selection and Super Bowl Champion. Ricky deserves way more credit than he gets!

  14. martin huerta on March 7, 2020 at 11:49 pm

I hate how they would broadcast these old games like there’s not even a score graphic how do you know what the score is lol

    That was Joe Montana’s superbowl

Like how the niners have the worst SuperBowl blowout and one of the worst but yet all people can talk about it their recent years. The niners were the kings of the 80s-90s. 7:47, even rice thought he got tackled then was like “Oh, another touchdown?”

  19. Chairman Meow on March 7, 2020 at 11:55 pm

young had such a beautiful throwing motion. it was art.

  20. Edgehead10075 on March 7, 2020 at 11:55 pm

The Niners lost both their coordinators after this game, plus Ricky Watters and Deion.

Cheat the salary cap and run up the score in the Super Bowl. 🤦🏻‍♂️ This was the end of my family’s lifelong love for the 49ers. 💔

  24. dflowers30 on March 8, 2020 at 12:04 am

This was the 75th anniversary of the NFL. The game was played in Miami. 49ers won their 5th title. Now 25 years later, The Niners are back in the Superbowl, the 100th anniversary of the NFL, in Miami, with a chance to win their 6th title. Freaky coincidence

This was the third and final Super Bowl that Frank, Al, and Dan called together.

  28. Kawy Thowy on March 8, 2020 at 12:06 am

I don’t like Young or the 49ers. They built those teams that won the championships illegally. And we’re busted for it years later. They should put an asterisk by there names. …..,I won $250 on a $10 square for this game. ONLY good thing about this game.

  29. emcop ksmith on March 8, 2020 at 12:07 am

Steve young one of the best QB I’ve ever seen passing running it’s just perfect

  30. Utah Hoops Freak on March 8, 2020 at 12:09 am

After this, Niners would let Prime and Ricky leave in free agency…. Haven’t won another since.

  31. Ryan Doyle on March 8, 2020 at 12:10 am

The 90’s Niners uniforms were an abomination.

  32. sirsaint88 on March 8, 2020 at 12:10 am

Steve Youngs 1 Superbowl was pretty good. But so were Joe Montana’s 4 Super Bowl victories!

  33. Arkofcraft 122 on March 8, 2020 at 12:13 am

Steve Young is the best QB in NFL history. He could do it all. Arguably the most efficient passer ever and he ran for nearly 4000 yards and 43 TDs. Change my mind.

  34. Ian Davis on March 8, 2020 at 12:13 am

Back then they were so competitive

I’m a hardcore niner fan since 88, but wow that throw from Humphries @ 4:54 rolling to his non throwing side & slinging the ball from his hip was an absolute gem, his receiver couldn’t hold on however.

13-3 Niners, #1 seed, win 25 years ago in Miami vs an AFC west team…🤔

  39. Edgehead10075 on March 8, 2020 at 12:18 am

The Chargers currently have a five game winning streak vs. the Niners. How embarrassing!

  40. MAZINGER Z on March 8, 2020 at 12:21 am

Stan Humphries is the most underrated QB in Super Bowl history. Dude would’ve won 5 chips had he played in this era.

  41. KING MOSTVICIOUS on March 8, 2020 at 12:22 am

Look at those faked tackle attempts @1:13 fucking WWE bullshit

  42. Diego Granados on March 8, 2020 at 12:22 am

I don’t even want to talk about super bowl LIV

  43. Edgehead10075 on March 8, 2020 at 12:28 am

This was one of those years where the Super Bowl winner was a foregone conclusion. The NFC Championship was the real Super Bowl that season.

  44. BayAreaSun on March 8, 2020 at 12:28 am

4:30 Eric Bienemy the offensive coordinator for Kansas City who won the Super Bowl vs SF…

  45. Edgehead10075 on March 8, 2020 at 12:30 am

As a young Niners’ fan at the time, I never thought that this would be, to date, their last SB championship.

As good as this team was, it was riding Bill Walsh coattails

  48. Luke Anderson on March 8, 2020 at 12:33 am

25 years later, the Niners are back. I wanna see the Steve Young come out of Jimmy G in that game.

  49. Walter Schivo on March 8, 2020 at 12:34 am

Beautiful to see the 49ers, and then Jed York came along and ruined everything for this team as 25 years later, nobody wants the 49ers in a superbowl. They cheated to get there. Steve Young should be ashamed of this team.
