    QB, WR, TE, LB. 😎

  3. thommy_optmax on December 14, 2020 at 10:20 pm

How about NE trades Josh McDaniels for Mike Evans? Bill (Offensive) and Steve other (Defensive) could handle the team.

  4. Speedyreedy1218 on December 14, 2020 at 10:21 pm

Rewatching SB 53, look how Danny Shelton closes the lanes and gap vs TG3. His presence is missed on d.

This will be long, but hopefully informative. Please Read….
Until we have a future QB I do not want to see heavy investments into the passing game. Think of when we had Jimmy G to replace Brady, the Patriots traded for Brandin Cooks, thinking they had their QB of the future and succession plan. They traded for Cooks, hoping to sign him after contract ran up, after giving a first round pick for his services. Cooks was good value and complimented Jimmy G quite well. During the season, Jimmy G was forced to be traded, and the Brandin Cooks trade followed shortly after. Another example, Josh Allen was drafted and developed before the Bills tried to pair him with a star receiver, first it was Antonio Brown, eventually Stephon Diggs.

Kyle Pitts will not even be on the Patriots draft board. They are a running football team and to take a TE who can’t block inline, is a waste of a high pick. Because if they use their run personel on first and second downs, and then bring in their passing sub package with 3 WR’s and a TE on passing downs. Pitts is a one down player, that’s a waste for this team.

As for Defense, I would look to re sign Lawrence Guy along with Deatrich Wise. And let Adam Butler walk, New England is highly unlikely to resign all 3. The Patriots are a sub package team. They do not have or use a base defensive alignment like with the days of Matt Patricia. Essentially their base is Nickel, and explains why they look for defensive players who can stop the run. I have a couple players in the draft, that I think would be a fit and why. And I like to think this is informed analysis. Bill Belichick uses his college coaches connection to draft players. Taking the advice from people he respects and have coached at the pro’s to give him advice. Herm Edwards, N’kael Harry, Christian Sam. Chip Kelly, Devin Asiaisi. Nick Saban. Kirk Ferentz. Another one of Bill Belichick connections is the Head Coach for NC State, introducing DT Allim McNeill. Who can play every technique on the D-Line. And then in Dime Packages can stay on the field and rush the passer. That’s a 3 down player, who reminds me of a more athletic and stronger Malcolm Brown coming out of Texas.

If they are unable to acquire Allim McNeil, which to me would be like a plan A scenario. I like Aidan Hutchison from Michigan. The Michigan, Jim Harbaugh, Don Brown connection strikes again. It appears as if the Patriots have made concerted effort to get smaller and more athletic on the edge. But still this is a multi-down player that can contribute right away on 2 maybe 3 downs. Aidan Hutchison is an Edge from Michigan, who can play the edge complimenting Deatrich Wise while in Nickel. And someone who also is able to kick inside on passing downs and rush from inside. Hutchison would be a tremendous help because the inability to set a strong edge and funnel the run inside. Since, John Simon has been unable to do so at certain points in the season, it has allowed teams to take the outside of the field. This is not good for the Patriots linebackers who play downhill and instinctive, not sideline to sideline. But if the edge is correctly set, and the run is funnelled inside, it allows the Bentley’s and Hightower’s and Jennings and Hall to play insitinctive, fast, tough, and physical downhill, instead of Sideline to Sideline. I also could see Belichick looking to move Hightower to a Defensive End role, as he is not getting any quicker, and definitely has the strength to funnel the run inside in Nickel.

And lastly, I do not think the Patriots have a need at linebacker, but more bodies, and more versatility. There is a player from Rutgers, who plays for Belichick connection, Greg Schiano. A linebacker named Olakunle Fatukasi. Who is more of a rangier type of linebacker. Who I think is a good, instinctive tough linebacker. If Hightower comes back, I think Fatukasi could carve out a role on special teams along with as a pass coverage linebacker in Dime, early on in his career.

The last thing you are forgetting is the salary cap is gonna drop about $25 million after this season. Leaving a lot of teams having to cut players to meet the cap. Just remember the Patriots will have a lot of money to spend this offseason. And since Belichick is always a step ahead, and knew this was coming, he decided to use this as a transition year. Where he is able to sign formerly cut players for no draft pick compensatory penalty.

Resign cam, draft a QB in the first or 2nd round and grab some decent guys in the free agent market(hunter Henry for one) and a servicable WR not even a star just a guy that can make some plays

BELICHICK is the worst GM in football… he can’t draft!!!!!!!

  13. Speedyreedy1218 on December 14, 2020 at 10:33 pm

I watched Miami vs UNC this weekend. And their LBs (especially #21) are ballers. He can rush, and is great in coverage. He knows what to look for because he spent his first two years as QB. Would be cool to snag him in the draft.

Should we draft a QB for development purposes?

  21. Scott Shepard on December 14, 2020 at 10:42 pm

First off that is an awesome jersey, I agree with your target points., We tried to draft for A tight end, we tried to draft for A receiver it didn’t work, We need quality free agents for these positions, all of them. ok to draft as well, but you need players to step in and make an impact wile your draft picks develop. also we need to make a
decision in regards to quarterback. I feel like A traitor but I feel I have seen enough of the Cam project. The Pats just don’t have time to reteach to A guy that is supposed
to be A seasoned veteran fundamentals and mechanics on how to pass. If your going to spend good money on weapons, you need A quarterback that can read the
field and get them the ball. Otherwise it’s money down the drain.

  24. wade is so old on December 14, 2020 at 10:45 pm

    1. Qb 2. Dt 3. Wr 4. TE. An underrated need is tackle. Wynn has improved but been injury prone and cannon 33 with an expiring deal next year. Wouldn’t be mad if we traded down and went tackle round 1. Either move wynn to rt and start the rookie on the left side or vice versa. Linebacker and pass rusher one as well but the opt outs coming back next year can plug the backer hole and bill always finds decent level rushers dline is missing someone that can stop the run some the start of 2019 every good running team beats us we allow 5+ yards on first or 2nd down way to easily. And a dt that can put pressure up the middle. Even qbs like Allen Mahomes Herbert tua all the mobile on the run ones still struggle against interior pressure. It’s hard to get away from an interior rusher cause you can’t step up and throw forces them to run towards your outside rushers

  25. Richard Kulig on December 14, 2020 at 10:45 pm

    A QB please
Someone who can throw,.. first foremost

  26. sekudone dukes on December 14, 2020 at 10:47 pm

Newton will be the starting qb next year. Newton has done a great job considering the offensive weapons. BB will build around Newton. Newton isn’t going anywhere. Unless its a team with weapons, Newton will stay.

  27. wade is so old on December 14, 2020 at 10:48 pm

Don’t see bill splurging big money on wr. If he’s spending big money it’s going to be on a more impactful position group like qb oline or dline. If browns make obj available there’s dat or if Brees retires saints decide to rebuild and make Thomas available. My gut tells me if he were to spend big assets on the position he’s going to do that through the draft. I think if we trade Gilmore he should give us either a low round 1 pick or a top 45ish round 2 pick. We could use that extra 1st or 2nd to get a wr high while still upgrading other positions in round 1 like qb or dt. Then with one of our 3 3rd rounders draft another wr. I could maybe see him taking a filer on aj green on a decent 1 year deal. Gotta remember bills logic and philosophy. Instead of locking in big money to a guy 4-5 years, trade for one like obj that would have 2-3 years left and most of the guaranteed money already paid that way you can get out of the deal if he’s a bad player or just injury prone. Or select one round 1 or 2 worst case scenario like Harry looking rn (although I haven’t given up on him yet) you can cut him at any time with basically no dead money.

  28. Speedyreedy1218 on December 14, 2020 at 10:49 pm

    QB, NT, CB, LB

    Racist remark

  30. brazillo19 on December 14, 2020 at 10:50 pm

What needs to happen with this team is the allure that players want to come to New England to play under Bill. Cam brings the fun, leadership and soul — despite his minor flaws, which making it fun to play for the Pats has gone with the departure of Brady and sometimes sternly demeanor of Bill. With the right pieces, which Cam needs help, and Bill’s softer side, the Pats will start winning as they once did and start attracting star players that want the opportunity to win with legendary coach, a fun quarterback to hang around with
winning and the most successful team in sports history.

  31. King Blaque on December 14, 2020 at 10:53 pm

Mark my words, the patriots are going to draft trey lance

  32. Delusional Patriots Fan on December 14, 2020 at 10:54 pm

I don’t want Cam in 2021. Cam just dosen’t look right sometimes. 70% of the time he throws worse that trubisky, and 30% of the time he looks like Stafford

  33. Ronnie 426 on December 14, 2020 at 10:54 pm

Thank you thank you thank you!!! I’ve been saying this before the season started! The offense needs to be overhauled. Keene and Asiasi are not it. Huge whiff on those two. There’s a few WR they could draft but doubt they’ll get one because it’s Belichick. I really have lost hope in any offense this team puts on the field.

  34. Johnny C on December 14, 2020 at 10:56 pm

I like Cam, but dude just can’t throw anymore. I’m not sure how they move forward, but I don’t see Cam or Stidham being the answer to the QB question.

  35. Ricardo Diaz on December 14, 2020 at 10:57 pm

I think a run stuffer is the main priority for the Pats, everything else is secondary . Nobody knows what Stidham can do, give him a chance , give the 2 new tight ends and new kicker a chance , they need to develop , it’s not easy for rookies that weren’t first round talent to get it together without an offseason and with covid shutting down weeks of practice that’s why Bill said practice is so important , but if we can’t stop the run end of story

  36. I am Vision da goat on December 14, 2020 at 10:58 pm

  41. Speedyreedy1218 on December 14, 2020 at 11:01 pm

PG: "We haven’t seen what it’s like to have production at TE since Gronkowski."

Me: "We haven’t seen production at QB since Brady."

[I’m excluding Bledsoe for obvious reasons.]

  42. K.C johnson on December 14, 2020 at 11:02 pm

What might happen is that Cam Newton will be gone he will probably be one and done. You guys could go after mitch trubiski from Chicago , mathew Stamford or taysom hill from New Orleans. I don’t see cam there at all not only that some of those receivers will be gone. I see Allen Robinson there or Jimmy Graham at tight end. I think after this season Bob kraft isn’t going to sit around he is going to make changes. Ya’ll are not going to make the playoffs so I think next year you’ll will be a different team.

  43. Ryan Kelly on December 14, 2020 at 11:05 pm

  46. Andrew Taylor on December 14, 2020 at 11:07 pm

Overall I agree with everything you stated. QB-TE-DT and WR. I had 4 WR that the Patriots should have picked that I knew were ballers .Justin Jefferson, Chase Claypool, Tee Higgins and Michael Pittman?

  47. space ghost on December 14, 2020 at 11:07 pm

Dont matter who u brought in at qb none could win any games with no firepower. The fact cam could win 6 off that roster i have to respect that.
